Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus)

Head of a jackal buzzard in a raptor rehabilitation centre in George, South Africa. The bird has a curved black beak with a yellow cere, and large eye. The bird will remain at the sanctuary until it is fit enough for release.
