Wind-sculpted cliffs

Vegetation clings to the wind-sculpted fossil sand dunes that line the beach at Gerickes Point near Sedgefield, Western Cape of South Africa. The erosion by wind, rain water has exposed different layers and formed strange shapes on the cliff-face. Plants have established on some of the ledges and form thick mats overhanging the edges.
