Close up of a cleome (Cleome spinosa) flower head, showing multiple florets and the developing long seed pods. The light is striking the top of the flower highlighting the cerise pink petals. The middle cluster of florets are still closed. There are small spines along the edges of the stems.The flower is also known as a spider flower due to the radiating florets.
