Baby blackbird on nest

Description

The head and beak of a baby blackbird (Turdus merula) sticks up above the edge of the nest, built on a fence ledge under a shrub in a suburban garden. Feathers are starting to come in at about 6 days from hatching. The eye and large beak can be seen, as can the side of the nest.
